    Notes Weather conditions were good. The vegetation was very tall, so the majority of birds were counted in flight. 2 x juvenile African Jacanas were in the company of an adult. 2 x Lesser Moorhen were an exciting addition to our list. Additional species noted: 2 x Allen's Gallinule on the Friday evening at Jacana hide; 1 x dead Little Bittern on the barbed wire fence beyond Vogelfontein and 1 x Secretary Bird on a tree in the distance from Kingfisher hide. This was reported to Special Watch. At the request of Nylsvley management we took GPS co-ordinates of Prickly Pears and have reported 4 sightings. No Queen of the Night was noted inside the reserve, but 1 on a neighbouring farm. Campulochlinium macrocephalum (Pompom weed) is evident along the railway line, but not yet in the reserve. Fixed point photographs to be sent under separate email.
