Notes The wind was gentle from the north west and the clouds were breaking up and letting sunlight through in odd places. The clouds were heavy and saturated but too high to rain generally. The ingress into Zandvlei was murky and muddy in colour with zero visibility in the inlet canal at the north west. The Fish Eagle was observed catching a fish and flew to the perch to eat it. There was a distinct lack of Coots on the open waterbody. The pockets of Potomageton appeared to have moved from the Potomageton Reserve area. There was plenty removed from the scout base bay area and piled on the shore. There were no Great Crested Grebe present in the western shore bays, as a possible indicator of no water-weed. There were a few White-backed Ducks in the remaining patches. Barry and Val did the northern Marina chanels and the Night Heron roost area in their canoe. They saw 40 Cape Cormorant herding fish in a feeding frenzy.
