    Notes Pan nearly full. Weather good. Lots of birds scattered over whole pan, so not easy to count. Was able to drive right around pan without getting too close to shore, and stopping at intervals. Red-knobbed Coot breeding - difficult to be sure of exactly how many broods there were: among a group of 10 adults were 4 young (c.half-grown) and another 2 (c. quarter-grown); 2 adults were accompanied by 4 young (c. 1 week old), 1 adult was accompanied by 2 young (c. half-grown), another had 2 young (c.1 week old) another 2 adults had 2 young (c.1 week).
